In 2024, the city of Salekhard became the site of an innovative pilot project at the intersection of Respubliki and Chubynina Streets — a showcase of the potential that modern technology brings to traffic management.
Project Goals
• Provide municipal and regional authorities, as well as contractors, with a standardized set of data on vehicle traffic intensity at the monitored site
• Transform conventional traffic controllers into smart devices with adaptive control functionality
Solution
«Invian — Smart Intersections»
Technology in Action
• Adaptive control: 6 next-generation cameras analyze the traffic situation in real time
• Intelligent optimization: automatic traffic signal regulation to minimize congestion
• Precise analytics: vision-based detectors classify and track traffic flows
The computer vision module significantly expands the capabilities of standard video systems. Using AI technologies, it analyzes traffic events locally and counts vehicles in real time.
The analysis considers congestion depth and duration, frequency of occurrence, and composition of the traffic flow. All traffic data is transmitted live to the traffic controller for dynamic adjustment of signal timing.
The module is universal and integrates with any Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) or Automated Traffic Control System (ATCS).
Results
• Increased intersection throughput by 25–30% during peak hours
• Automated adaptation of traffic signals to real-time traffic conditions
• Reduced likelihood of congestion and traffic delays
The «Invian» Approach: Key Advantages
We don’t just install equipment — we create an intelligent ecosystem that makes roads safer and more comfortable for everyone. Our solutions are already deployed on dozens of federal highways, assisting thousands of drivers every day.
• Innovation without overspending: upgrading existing infrastructure without major capital investments
• Forecasting and optimization: using real data to develop future-ready traffic solutions
• Eco-friendliness and convenience: reducing congestion and improving traffic flow for safer, more livable cities
